Greys4Pets Terms & Conditions

By participating in the Greys4Pets program and rehoming your greyhound through our service, you agree to the following terms and conditions:

  1. Health and Veterinary Requirements
    a. All greyhounds being rehomed must have had a dental clean, including any necessary extractions, performed by a licensed veterinarian.
    b. Greyhounds must be desexed (neutered/spayed).
    c. All greyhounds must be vaccinated, with vaccinations not expiring within 2 months of being accepted into the Greys4Pets program. If the vaccinations will expire within this period, a booster shot must be administered before acceptance.
    d. Greyhounds must be microchipped in accordance with local regulations, and the microchip number must be provided prior to the acceptance of the dog into the program.
    e. All prior and current health concerns, including but not limited to injuries, illnesses, or ongoing treatment requirements, must be fully disclosed to Greys4Pets prior to acceptance of the greyhound into our program. Failure to disclose such information may result in the cancellation of the greyhound's acceptance into the program.

  2. Financial Responsibilities
    a. You, as the greyhound owner/participant, are responsible for all costs associated with the care, treatment, and welfare of the greyhound until it is handed over to a Greys4Pets rescue or placed with one of our approved carers or adopters.
    b. Any veterinary, food, or other associated costs incurred prior to the handover must be paid in full before the greyhound can be accepted into the program.

  3. Rehoming Obligations
    a. You are solely responsible for ensuring that the greyhound is retired from greyhound racing and that all necessary retirement documentation is submitted to the relevant greyhound racing body or authority.
    b. All rehoming obligations for the greyhound, including but not limited to the legal and regulatory requirements, are your responsibility until the dog has been successfully placed in a new home through the Greys4Pets program.

  4. Failure to Comply
    a. If any of the above terms are not met, including failure to disclose health concerns or failure to meet veterinary requirements, Greys4Pets reserves the right to decline acceptance of the greyhound into the program or to cancel an already accepted dog.
    b. Any issues or concerns must be communicated upfront, and any failure to meet program requirements may lead to the immediate removal of the greyhound from the program.

  5. Animal Welfare Breaches
You understand and agree that any breach of animal welfare standards, including but not limited to neglect, abuse, or failure to meet the minimum veterinary requirements outlined in these terms, will be reported to the relevant greyhound racing bodies, as well as to RSPCA, local councils, and police. This is to ensure the well-being and safety of the animals under the Greys4Pets program.

  6. Acknowledgement of Greyhound Racing Body Obligations
By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you also confirm that you have read, understood, and are fully aware of your obligations regarding the rehoming requirements and schemes of your relevant greyhound racing body. This includes adhering to any specific processes, timelines, and regulatory requirements for the retirement and rehoming of greyhounds in accordance with your racing body’s guidelines.
